Although the overall part is small, the critical feature is an ultra-fine nozzle orifice measuring only 0.07 mm.

Measuring such micro-scale features using traditional methods (calipers, contact CMMs) is nearly impossible due to:

  • High risk of damaging or deforming the delicate nozzle tip

  • Inability to capture full-field geometry, including concentricity, straightness, and taper

  • The 0.07 mm aperture being beyond the resolution and accessibility of conventional measurement tools

This challenge required a non-contact 3D scanning solution capable of handling reflective metallic surfaces and micro-scale geometries with extreme accuracy.
