The world’s first 3D drawing pen

An American toy manufacturing company has created a pen that can draw objects using 3D printing technology, according to news from Mashable (USA) posted on February 21.

Designers at WobbleWorks advertise on the company’s website: “If you can write, draw and wave your hand in the air, then you are qualified to use a 3Doodler pen.”

This pen uses ABS thermoplastic material, the type used for 3D printers, to draw objects.

Users can draw any shape in the air or draw on surfaces to create objects.

ABS plastic dries quickly when sprayed from a pen, making “drawing things” easy.

However, the manufacturer warns that the writing tip when spraying plastic has a very high temperature, up to 270 degrees Celsius, so users should not leave it near children.

WobbleWorks achieved its 3Doodler sales target of $30,000 within hours of its launch, five times its initial cost.

It is known that while 3D printers are worth thousands of dollars, 3Doodler only costs 75 USD/plant.

In addition to the function of drawing objects such as the Eiffel Tower, houses…, this 3D drawing pen can also help fix broken objects, WobbleWorks said.
